At the heart of Fair Grade Forests (FGF) lies a vibrant network of partners, each bringing valuable expertise to strengthen the project’s environmental, technological, and social impact. These collaborative relationships ensure that FGF’s vision is firmly rooted in real-world needs and best-in-class scientific, economic, and governance practices.
Department of Forestry: By cooperating with public institutions such as the Department of Forestry, FGF aligns conservation strategies with national policies, harnessing regulatory support for sustainable forestry management.
Institutional Partners: Workshops and roundtables with entities like the European Union, UNITEC, BSP, Deloitte, and UP have brought diverse stakeholders together, fostering solution-oriented dialogue around reforestation, carbon-credit verification, and indigenous empowerment.
Griffith University: This partnership underscores FGF’s commitment to cutting-edge research and rigorous data analysis. Griffith University’s academic resources help validate the project’s methodologies and strengthen the private blockchain’s monitoring capabilities, ensuring transparency at every step of the conservation process.
UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): FGF’s mission and operational strategies directly support multiple SDGs particularly those focused on climate action, responsible consumption, life on land, and the reduction of inequalities. By aligning with these global targets, FGF amplifies the broader impact of its conservation work and ensures that local action contributes to international sustainability benchmarks. In 2021, the co-founder Pierre participated in COP26 in Glasgow, Scotland, as part of the official delegation of Papua New Guinea.
REDD+ (UNFCCC): As a recognized mechanism under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), REDD+ provides a structured approach to reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation. FGF aligns its activities with REDD+ principles to verify carbon credits reliably and enhance credibility in the international carbon market.
Through these strategic partnerships and collaborations, Fair Grade Forests ensures that the collective expertise of NGOs, governmental bodies, academic institutions, and global frameworks is channeled into an integrated, high-impact model of forest conservation. These alliances not only reinforce the credibility of FGF’s private blockchain approach but also pave the way for scalable, long-lasting solutions that place both communities and ecosystems at the forefront.
